GETTING HIGH DOESN’T GET ANY YUMMIER THAN THIS

A sweet and fun take on everyone’s childhood favorite!

These are the perfect party food! Everyone’s favorite gooey but crunchy treat!

Usually I make these with a lighter canna ghee (clarified butter) because I know how hard it is to eat only one! But you can also make it with a stronger ghee, and then cut it up into smaller pieces and keep them in the freezer for when needed. These rice crispy treats are so crunchy and sweet it’s easy to eat more than your usual dose.

Some recipe hints and suggestions:

  • You can replace the rice crispies with your favorite puff cereal- just make sure that cereal is really crunchy and light.

  • You can experiment by adding crushed pretzels or even gold fish, cutting that sweet with a little salty/savory kick.

  • If you want to add chocolate chips (or even better coco nibs!), do so right at the end before molding them into the pan or the chocolate will melt all over!

  • This recipe freezes well and will defrost on the counter in about 20 minutes.

  • Because these are particularly attractive to young people, please make sure to keep them WELL out of the way of children.

  • Please be responsible and make sure everyone eating these brownies knows that they have cannabis in them. Surprises are not always fun when it comes to eating THC.

Rice crispy treats are the macaroni and cheese of the baking word: not chic, just delicious!

MAGIC CANNABIS-INFUSED RICE CRISPY TREATS

WHAT YOU WILL NEED 

INGREDIENTS:

5 cups RICE CRISPY TREATS

85g / 3 OZ. / 6 tbsp. CANNABIS GHEE (hemp-infused clarified butter)

1 tbsp. WATER

284g / 10 oz. MARSHMELLOWS

Light cooking spray or vegetable oil

KITCHEN STUFF:

9 x 9 in. or 10 x 10 in. / 24 x 24 cm Baking pan

A big heavy bottom pot

Rubber spatula

Wax paper

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Cut a piece of wax paper that is about 3 inches / 10 cm bigger than your pan and “line” the pan with it. It doesn’t have to be perfect or pretty.

In your pot, over medium heat, melt your canna ghee, water and marshmellows together. Mix all the while. You don’t want to burn your marshmellows!

One the two have come together nicely in a white creamy paste, lower your heat and add the rice crispies. Mix thoroughly! If you are adding pretzels or any other yummy flourishes, do it at this time as well.

Remove from the heat and immediately dump the whole thing into your wax paper lined baking dish. Don’t worry if it’s crazy, just make sure it’s all on the wax paper.

Oil your palms and fingers with baking spray and press the “dough” firmly into the pan, filling all the corners evenly and pressing it flat. Make sure there are no bubbles and that your treats fill the pan in an even layer. (If it is too hot, let it sit one minute, then try again. Don’t burn yourself!)

I added magic sprinkles to this batch!

Let your treats sit out and cool for an hour- there is no need to bake them! Then cut your treats into 16 equal pieces by cutting first in half, then cutting each half in half lengthwise and then cutting each strip into 4 pieces.

Serves 8-16 people

SERVING SIZE:

This depends on how strong you made them!

There is a good quantity of ghee in this recipe so be careful! If your ghee is about 12mg of THC/tsp then each of your 16 pieces will be have about 5mg of THC - a respectable dose!

Freezing is a great idea, but do keep in mind that, unlike brownies, these treats take about 30 minutes to defrost, so plan ahead!
